Hi, I’m Richard Pearson and I’ve been helping clients “Building Brands” for over 10 years, after my earlier career in companies like Cadbury’s, U.B. & Princes.

My approach is very flexible, commercial & “hands-on” covering all key aspects of “Building Brands”:

Wikinger Aunt Bessie's NATCO Young's Sea Food Bakkavor

Client: Aunt Bessie’s

Client Issue: Overall business strategy identified convenience sector as growth area and need to get a handle on “size of the prize” and requirements to deliver it.

RPM Input: Developed a bespoke business plan format for the convenience sector, linked with internal sales team and analysed external data e.g. IGD/Kantar etc.

Results: Aligned Aunt Bessie’s products to convenience shopper missions to agree “core” range listing priorities and provided a sound rationale for a focused distribution drive.

Client: Natco Foods Ltd

Client Issue: Over reliant on ethnic independent outlets and unable to get the support of the major multiple supermarkets.

RPM Input: Took on sales representation for major multiples for ethnic foods range, developed buying contacts for snacks, hot beverages & ready meals. Secured listings for brand & own label.

Results: “Sitar” snacks listing in Waitrose & NISA, “NATCO” spiced tea listing in Sainsbury’s and Tesco O/L rice contract.

Client: Young’s Seafood

Client Issue: Aim to become the definitive fish/seafood website having a wealth of material around the business but the need for someone to take on focus & accountability to deliver project.

RPM Input: Project-managed new website initiative, co-ordinating with all key internal personnel, liaising with external agencies and managing recipe podcast filming.

Results: Established blueprint for overall layout, unique hits more than trebled from 11K to 38K & settled down at 25K per month.

Client Issue: Major multiples reluctant to take on another supplier in relatively low profile category.

RPM Input: Tailored category approach, use of both Kantar & retailer specific data, demonstrating incremental benefits from Jars and personally presenting to key customers

Results: ASDA listing regained, new Tesco listing secured and 2 Wikinger products now in category Top 10.
